The Community Engagement Unit serves as a liaison between the District Attorney and residents of Bronx County, through community outreach in the form of educational programs, representing the Office of the Bronx District Attorney at community meetings, and consistent interaction with community residents, neighborhood leaders and others. This unit also keeps residents informed of the status of a given case as it progresses through the criminal justice system. Issues of importance to the community can be brought to the attention of the District Attorney by contacting:

Community Partner/Inter-Agency Initiatives:
The Office holds annual awareness events, such as the 5K Run, Walk, Roll Against Domestic Violence, Anti-Gun Violence marches and resource fairs, and the Child Safety Fair.
Re-entry Resource Fairs are held in neighborhoods throughout the Bronx, focusing on assisting those returning to the community from incarceration in finding jobs, to promote stability and community safety.
Gun Buyback Programs with the NYPD, faith-based organizations and other community partners have taken thousands of guns off the streets.
Each August the Office participates in National Night Out Against Crime, engaging with NYPD and residents in a show of solidarity for safety in their communities.
Youth Engagment
CEU hosts youth workshops such as “Guns and the Real Truth,” as well as Youth Forums where young people make their voices heard.
The B.R.A.V.E. ( Bronx Residents Against Violent Encounters) Internship program, for young people affected by violence who would like to make a difference in their community, empowers and trains them in workshops and community events for six weeks in the summer.
Adult Workshop Series
Adult workshops educate Bronx residents about various issues related to the criminal justice system. Recent workshops have focused on "After the Arrest," "Gang Awareness," "Domestic Violence," and other topics. Many of the workshops were held at community centers, community based organizations, homeowner associations and schools.
